You do not need to go to Hawaii to have an outdoor wedding on the water!!

Picture having your rehearsal dinner and wedding reception at your own private lodge on Lake Shafer. Seven deluxe suites plus 4- 2 bedroom cottages is available for your family/wedding party/friends etc. We sleep up to 54 guests.

Let the little ones play at our sand beach with play set, walk along our stream and waterfall, have smores at our bonfire pit where everyone can relish the moment. Boating, swimming and fun at Indiana Beach Amusement Park is calling. In essence, you end up having a 3 day/ 2 night wedding / family reunion / vacation stay at Lake Shafer's premier location, for about the same as you would pay for a one evening wedding at a banquet hall.

You can have all of your needs and more provided at one beautiful location, the Lighthouse Lodge B&B on Lake Shafer. We have a list of local vendors to help you have a stress free event. Please view our YOUTUBE video located on our home page.

EXAMPLE:

2022 pricing for Friday & Saturday from Memorial day weekend until Labor day weekend taking all 7 deluxe suites (figuring double occupancy) is $3516.80 total and includes a delicious breakfast every morning. You can add our "cottage on the lake" (sleeps up to 7 guests) for $716.80 (includes tax)/weekend and add our "accessible cottage" ( sleeps up to 6 guests) for $761.60 and add our "blue roof cottage" (sleeps up to 9 guests), or our new "waterfront chalet" ( sleeps up to 6 guests) for $806.40 (includes tax)/weekend. Add $7.00/person for breakfast at the lodge for guests in the cottages, if desired. You can have a midweek wedding (Sun.-Thurs.) / reunion / vacation for a discounted price of $2721.60 (including tax) for a 2 night stay.

First and foremost, you get Bonnie. Her mission is to have the delicious catered meal carefully prepared and served at your chosen time. Bonnie is a great service oriented cook with 23 years of experience as owner / operator at Gabriel's Pub in Melrose Park, Illinois and 15 years running our B&B. Bonnie puts her heart & attention to each wedding so , as she has said " will not let any bride and groom have less than their dream wedding day".

With our 23 years of food & beverage service at Gabriel's Pub, we have hired and trained our local servers to provide you with attentive and service oriented food service, we have received many positive reviews from past guests regarding Bonnie and our helpers.

Large deck for installing a tent, which is required in case of inclement weather. The large deck allows for dancing and socializing. Adequate electrical connections for decorations and music requirements.

With your booking of the 7 deluxe suites in the lodge, you get our lake level , park like grounds complete with a protected shallow sandy beach, children's play sets , 2- bonfire pits ( with wood), 2-paddle boats, bean bag toss game, etc.

The lodge facilities include 3-bathrooms, a large recreation room, a sun room directly off the sun deck for food service, a handicap ramp up to the sun deck, a large gas grill, and 4- 2 bedroom cottages if extra lodging is needed.

We have a taste testing party in April to allow you to choose your menu.

We were able to get a lot for our money at the Lighthouse Lodge in terms of scenic location, great food, and a fantastic vibe. "Mike and Bonnie were positively wonderful! I definitely had my Fairy Tale experience. We arrived on Thursday and they welcomed us in warmly. Asked what I preferred for breakfast and went over all the schedules again. It was so relaxing. Breakfast each morning was magnificent. Our Honeymoon room was so comfortable and clean. I am unable to have dairy and Bonnie noticed I had dairy items on my dinner menu. I told her I'd just avoid those because nobody else was lactose intolerant. She went out of her way and made a small portion of those foods for me to be able to eat. ALL the food was just amazingly delicious. It rained the ENTIRE day of my wedding. About 20 minutes before the ceremony the clouds opened up and the rain stopped and Bonnie rushed up to my room and asked if I wanted her to have the boys move the chairs to the lawn. Which I did because I was just dead set on using the decorations I had worked hard on. As soon as we finished the ceremony and pictures it started sprinkling again. They were so amazingly accommodating for the strange weather. They had no problem with my loud family partying deep into the night and they were just super wonderful people. They were not just acting as if we were customers it was as if we were family too them. Mike and Bonnie are truly two of the most amazing people you will ever meet. They put their hearts and souls into making their B&B clean, welcoming, homey, and extraordinary. I could not have achieved my dream wedding without them. Room Tip: All of them are amazing."

"My husband's company rented every room for a team building outing on which they were invited to bring their entire families. They could not have picked a more perfect location. The rec room was spacious and ideal for business meetings, and the proprietors allowed us to use their kitchen to cook meals which made the trip more cost effective.Personally, this is the best place I've ever stayed. I have had a less enjoyable stay in rooms that cost 4x as much with half to offer. The rooms are neat and well furnished with modern appliances and furniture. There is a great playground right on the lake, fire pits, and a clean beach where you can walk right out into the water. The location is rural enough that you can enjoy country life but near enough to town for convenience.We didn't have to leave for our entire trip and we were not bored for one minute.Mike and Bonnie are a wonderful couple who enjoy what they do. They are warm and make you feel right at home. It's more like visiting family (that you actually want to see) than staying at a hotel.The food is right on time, delicious and plentiful.
